CTL Use-by Date?

At an European level the latest timing for sale and distribution was 9 days ago (20th Nov 2019), and the latest deadline to store, use or dispose of stocks is 20th May 2020. Some countries may choose to stop its use before this, but the UK have set the latest use/store/dispose at the latest deadline of 20th May 2020.

I doubt there is enough wheat planted to use it up by then. Or barley.

Wonder what distributor stocks are like then. Must be sad if you have to send loads to hazardous waste disposal.

Surely they'll just ship it out of the country and sell it to another country still allowed to use it.

As per usual, farmers get tied up in regs and have to pay £££ to follow them....but many other companies (who could afford to pay for disposal!) have loopholes available to them so it won't affect them.

I was at a nroso meeting yesterday and we were discussing CTL, one distributor has 100 tons and another had 80 tons in stock that can’t be sold or returned, I suggested they could pay me to dispose of some.
They’ve been caught out by farmers not buying as v little wheat sown.
Myself and most of my neighbours stocked up earlier this month.

That's a fairish hazardous waste disposal bill then.

Let's hope the authorities aren't bored and decide to check their inventories.

I've probably the capacity to use another 100 litres and will take it off their hands for a small fee. Although if they can't sell it now, and they own no crops, surely they can only transfer it to a licensed waste disposal company. Bloody red tape!

This is nonsense it will be moved to a country where it can be used, not difficult to remove labels and replace in a different language.

Would anyone care to have a guess at what potential yield penalty's will be with the loss of CTL .in wheat barley and beans ? From what I understood it's the only chemical to have effect against ramularia

New fungicides coming along may have an effect on ramularia.
Generally, it should be possible to maintain yields but at a higher cost.
