Is it new , ELMS , CSS , or a combination , another scheme offering lots but producing naff all .
I know .........It’s Sustainable Farm Incentive Scheme
Is it new , ELMS , CSS , or a combination , another scheme offering lots but producing naff all .
Do I need to ask them ?It's quite simple.
With CSS you get paid to leave overwintered stubble.
With ELMS you get paid not to leave overwintered stubble.
Ergo, conduct a referendum of your birds to see which they prefer, and Bob's your uncle .
Do I need to ask them ?

Someone needs to explain what they want to achieve with all this taxpayers money, because i'm fecked if I know.
What do you think NE and RSPB , NT , have spent their BPS on , other than securing future funding ? All the right top knotch advisors , The rest of us actually farming will go whistle !The creation of hundreds of advisory jobs. All at our expense....
I thought they were short of cash for hospitals etc. They'll throw millions at newts and bats etc. while we wait years for a hip op. Did anybody ever get taught how to prioritise at school.https://www.gov.uk/guidance/arable-and-horticultural-soils-standard#actions

And….will land that isn’t tied in to these schemes (for an obviously indeterminate period) , command a premium in future?if we have to apply to different quango's or defra for fences or reseeding planting or .... or taking a crap we no longer own the farm even if we do... we will have effectively given up our farms to chase a pittance for what ?
Generally a timid soul, don't like to make waves, but attached what I have said from day 1 of ELMs, everything I have read and been told since just reinforces my views.
