Well that’s just a total fantasy. The current government doesn’t look 10 months into the future let alone 10 years. No policy or commitment or indeed statement in the House of Commons lasts more 10 minutes without being U turned or contradicted.

The current government cannot deliver 10 year plans for anything without support from the next incumbent which could well take place next year but certainly no more that 2 years time. This is the downside of short term governments but there are certainly downsdes from long term governments.

well we have had 12 years of Conservative government and can anyone explain in which way it has taken the country forward in a positive way?

I doubt if any government can sort it or move the country forward.
Everyone now expects the gov to reach them money to make up the shortfall in their finances. MPs get castigated for suggesting that people need to work a few hours more to help with the cost of living or learn how to cook properly rather than just open a packet and stick it in the microwave.
Not sure what the answer is other than a period of extreme hardship and politicians who aren't worried about getting re-elected.
