I think there are some excellent examples for all soil types and conditions about but sh!t years like this show some flexibility or options are paramountI cant belive a drill that suits all has not been invented yet !
Claydon surely is? Jack of all trade master of noneI cant belive a drill that suits all has not been invented yet !
I dont know im not arable but the array of drill on offer astounds me when we have all these years experience and its only sowing seeds …..Claydon surely is? Jack of all trade master of none

I’m changing my mind as it’s Christmas. Plough and Combi is the one drill, slow and surely establishes 10/10 even this year end off. The only reason there 200 min/zero drills is ever farm needs 4 to get their crop sown 10/10 and maybe a accord and Kuhn in the nettlesClaydon surely is? Jack of all trade master of none

had and have seen plenty of rubbish or even failed combi drill crops in my farming career to date
it’s certainly a LOT easier though and requires much less skill / management knowledge …….. easy farming ( but expensive!)
Easy to say less management in the sunny south! Which can be true in a lot of cases. But in the wet west and northern areas of the uk it works and a lot don’t have hundreds of acres to spread expensive multiple drills across and or markets for different rotations it also works.
ThanksGot a price in 2022 and it was around £320 a disc assembly
That's why the fancy mintillers go for wider rows. Thanks
That kills that idea then as I’d need 38
£320 is about what i paid for my drillThanks

166mm is wide enough on this soilThat's why the fancy mintillers go for wider rows.
In the Top Trumps of drills that method might score highly on Establishment % but will score 1 on speed.I’m changing my mind as it’s Christmas. You'd only need a couple of mornings on the boilers to pay for thatThanks

Do you mean 16.6 cm? Otherwise 60 odd metre drill will take some dragging166cm is wide enough on this soil
