Filling trailers before connection

Are you able to partially fill a grain trailer before connecting with a tractor? We have 2 grain trailers to be filled from a stationary machine, will we need 2 tractors so there can be one tractor per trailer or can we just switch over the trailer, empty the first then go back to the one filling up and connect?

Thousands of trailers are filled from a combine every harvest where no tractor is connected.

Trailer needs dropping on a solid block of timber or concrete type surface to stop the support stand from sinking in, then fill from front first.

16 year old Grandson learnt that the hard way last harvest.
After the 2nd call, can you come down with the telehandler to lift this trailer.
Suspect he will remember next wet harvest :D

As you are listed as 'Trade' and you talk about 'connecting' are you perchance referring to artic grain trailers and HGV tractor units? If so, the answer is yes, so long as the trailer legs are on something solid and you have the trailer brakes on.

Not recommended, but you can put a chain between the two lift arms and under the trailer hitch, and then lift up the trailer and possibly swing the drawbar under and put the pin in. Done it many times, just make sure you are never anywhere near where it can fall it all goes wrong!
