I believe the protest is about the ridiculous amount of duty currently being collected on fuel given the average crude price is less than it was in 2012.

In 2008 oil was $143 a barrel , fuel was £143 / litre now it's $90 a barrel and fuel is £1.48 . go figure

In particular airline and shipping fuel, as much as I'd like to see the world, I'd sooner leave a healthy one to my children.
