my fb timeline is full of dreadful images most weeks , in some ways im hoping they kill a few pets instead of farm stock might get the message then, do you know if they were released in the park or have they spread out from the swiss boarder ?

we are mid way between Poitier and Limoges, Montmoillon for example. There are wolves here. There is a quite large military training base outside Montmorillon and it seems they do well in there

Caen , St Malo , big girls route , men go to Dover ...
Not at the moment, Men are currently waiting at Maidstone I believe for both Dover and Folkestone at least the lorries are the feed didn't get here till 8pm last week due to the traffic as the holidayers drive like numpties to get into the rear entrance of the Tunnel and the twits in vans try to do the same before going back to Maidstone.
I get bored on the tunnel , 35 minutes
Not if you were on the one the other day that broke down in the tunnel, wouldn't have been a good day to suffer claustrophobia.

As @Matthew Britton says plenty of hedges in the Bourbonnais region. I'm always disappointed with standard of management of them though. Never seen any hedgelaying in the whole area and although plenty of them ,none of them stockproof and always have electric/barbed wire back fence. Any chance of teaching the french hedgelaying@matthew britton?
Morvan National Parc amazing area of grassland farms with small fields, cattle and many miles of hedges. Like turning the clock back 50-60 years.
One of the great things about french countryside is you have such a wide ranging mixture of different farming types and very little appetite for re-wilding!

Not a lot of chance from me I am afraid, I struggle enough with trimming them let alone laying one! There are very few who make a nice job of cutting them, infact I can only think of one farm locally who makes them nice and square/boxy the rest are more my style of wiz round and knock off the worst. It is the reason that the soon to be Mrs Britton is being trained to to them, she likes things too look nice so makes a bit more effort! Where were you farming @Nigel Wellings ?

Still have a house 3-4km from Bourbon L'Archambault and love that whole area. There are some good soils for both grass and arable in that area at very reasonable prices even today. Know a number of the farmers in that area and love the attitude, sense of community etc. I farmed in the Indre between Chateauroux and Tours. Sold to a certain Chinese enterprise that caused quite a bit of controversy in french farming! Would not rule out buying a farm in the Allier at some point.

Well in that case you know where we are then, we were in Bourbon market yesterday. We love it here and now we have found a local farm to buy won’t be going far. We did head west for a look at a couple of farms in February but it just didn’t capture us like this area. Community is great too and proper french with oit too many expat English bringing their problems and attitudes, not the farming fraternity on here I hasten to add! If you fancy meeting up for a chat when your down give me a shout.

Yes, bloody useless lot. We left the second farm with a degree of enthusiasm at the time. Michelle promised to forward pac details etc. I have not heard from her since. Fortunately I think we have found our place……….hopefully!

they are very busy.
Mind, it seems a bit unreasonable expecting them to organise your Easter celebrations😳
