Thank you, most people question my sanity me included, 59 this year and most would be looking to steady up at this age where as I'm ramping it up.
Another six years and you can pay the mortgage with your state pension. Could be worse you could be an ex - Herefordshire tenant and retired to a bungalow at 50. Back in the area shortly get the kettle on.

I think your being a bit optimistic with the state pension, can't see it stretching quite that far (but I'll live in hope ) kettle's on.

Feed back could be everyone is interested and going to put bids in and in reality you could be on your own in a dutch auction with the Councils agent ???

Not in my case, there were a lot in for the farm, then got down to final 3 in interviews, ( saw the others there ) so it was genuine [emoji6]

That is cheap for around Cambridgeshire, If i bid £125 for the council farm i am hoping for i think i would loose it at that
Sorry for been nosey 690 but i seen youre photos drilling hybrid winter barley with the MF 30 in another thread . Are you currently renting your land on a year to year basis ? And what sort of money are you paying ? 125 would be enough hard to make headway if you have to much rent to pay . Years ago when my father was farming a lot of rented ground he screwed his landlords down by offering his rent upfront before he ploughed or drilled his crop . The landowner then found it hard to shift you because he needed your money as reverting to another renter would see him having to wait till the crop was harvested before he got the last of his money .
Anyway best of luck to you and mrs mtx in your quest for a tenancy .

Mrs mtx Cash flows and spread sheets can be required to focus the applicants mind of just how big an undertaking you will be making, for they illustrate just how easily an enterprise can be rendered non viable by minor changes in input or output assumptions. I believe the figures produced by you the applicants to bear more credence than any estate agent. There was a time when off farm activities were deemed undesirable but with a forward looking council these points are essential to your application to succeed. How do I know been there got the t shirt !!
Best of luck to you all.

Do you eat lamb or hogget it invites you to pick up your produce, would get you a look at the buildings surrounded by roads or rights of way some binoculars would give you a idea of the land

Google earth on my phone doesn't give a very clear picture close up might be better on a computer. But can see a long track running up the far border of the farm possibly footpath bridleway
