Hedge cutters so you don't have to turn your neck so much?
I just wanted to know your thoughts on these?
Sorry, I don't know the proper name for this type of hedge cutters?
I would say that if your using a 100hp tractor it would make it quite unstable? Do I stand corrected?

Variable forward reach vfr
I've a 6.5m vfr telescopic on a Massey 6480 and had to put water in the back right tyre to keep it on the ground. It's a heavy outfit but one with slightly less reach and not telescopic might be a bit better.

An engineer built a bespoke mid mounted hedge-trimmer, it was a superb piece of machinery. It was on a 7 series Ford.
It had a fuel leak and burned. I had the gearbox off him to rebuild my County.
Sad day though as or was a superb piece of engineering.
How come no one offers this type of thing?

Got a telescopic forward reach here, on a 150hp 6 cylinder, not sure I'd want it on anything lighter, once you've had a forward reach you'll wonder why you waited so long!!

6480 is one of the best tractors ever made! Something about the 64 series!

I swapped a McConnell 6570r for a 6070 vfr last year. It’s on the same tractor and I don’t think it hangs any heavier. Definitely the vfr eases neck strain I’d not chance back. On a small tractor you will add extra weight tho.

Any narrow roads to cut?
We had one and just couldn’t get down with out swapping wheels round (or hitting mud guards :banghead: ). We had 6020 but used it with tyres set wide for stability! Some of our roads around middle of Warwickshire remind me of Devon banks:ROFLMAO:.

The reverse drive Valtra above does the verge trimming around here and hedges, doesn't matter how narrow the road,if a tractor can get up it he can see perfectly, goes faster than any ditch trimmer I have seen. He did try a Protec version but didn't keep it
