What will you make if you go alone ?
Predominantly I’m hoping to carry on doing basic injection moulds and press tooling along with anything else that crops up. I won’t do anything yet though until/when/if my place shuts down as I don’t have enough time for work then my own tool room and farming along with a very young family

Looks a very similiar machine, what’s that worth? Open to offers on the one I posted

List price quoted is 34k brand new with the hiedenhain control which is what I want as I can make them Sing all day long very easily. If I get anything I want it in and running fast. I takes to long to learn something new I feel in the terms of control systems so that’s why I’d stick with what I know

Most of my tools have been sort of scrap but were ok after being rebuilt, any thing actually paid for were really bodged up by dealers and on any machine the heavier the better as can do small stuff on a large machine but can't do a large job on a small one. the little high speed is ok from a few thou up-to an 1/8, been left out as scrap at a machinery dealers gave £15 but with a bit of modifying and time is as good as new or better, the1962 Beaver mill came from Clays printing at Bungay, done little work but left outside, took five years to rebuild that, its ok but not as good as a Bridge-port, the little Corona pedestal drill and Wotan hand shaper were on a trailer ready to go for scrap, done a small repair so came for free apart from repairing them, the Herbert drill was at a machinery dealers at the time was asking silly money, ended up left out in a field and fell over, was told motor was burnt out, well it cost quite a bit as a multi speed motor and had to be rewired that cost £160 forty plus years ago but been used allot. All my machine tools cost little but tooling is where you need to spend money on.

We sent a load of morse tappered 3/4” -2” away to be done about two years ago, bill was a bit eye watering but they were useless before and now will drill in the radial arm without pilot holes! Can just touch them up by hand for a few years again hopefully bar the two that have chipped and the brand new 21mm that shattered 🙈🙈🙈🙈
