Meat of all Types is Short!

If the WWF get their 'basket' thing pushed into Red Tractor, aided and abetted by the NFU meat (and dairy) is going to be a lot shorter in the future...

In fact, so will the contributors to the Livestock & Forage pages..

....... 50% less meat and dairy will surely mean one in two of our businesses will cease to exist.
Shocking! Should be massive protests against like what the Germans are doing!

the only saving grace might be the number of farmable acres is reducing & the population is increasing so the proposed reduction might be 50% per capita but not 50% reduction in output
I forget where, but an economist last year predicted house prices will continue to rise in Summer 2024 after inflation falls. Allowing the middle classes to get a breather, by re-financing their main assets. However, a few will have had enough and will start selling up altogether, leading to more wide spread emigration, eventually by 2040, the UK will just be a few elites, their bean counters and the poor. The theory is called Neo-feudalism! 😆

But seriously, if meat gets scarce and is mainly imported then the corps will have an even greater control of price, whether livestock farmers downsize or not.

The fake meat companies doing badly also reflects badly on the false propaganda that goes with it - that only green economics can save the environment and we must all pay for this.

Here's Katie Hopkins (at the end) countering vegan empathy and sentiment on why she sopposes vegans tend not to breed.

Has anyone actually pulled the NFU up on this. I’ve forwarded it to NFUS head office to see if they can give them a boot up the backside. The reaction I got was pretty much one of shock.

I'm not a NFU member but I believe their council has 'squared up' to the NFU hierarchy over it.

It's all tied in with the GFC proposals made by Red Tractor, in conjunction with the British Retail Council (which is basically supermarkets) which they propose to roll out on April 1st.

we should all be eating MORE red meat for health reasons, not processed crap but steak etc, most nutritiously dense food on the planet, lot of people cutting out carbs and going carnivore and feeling great
Plus its one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly foods you can eat.

we had steak last night, taken out to eat, white park cattle steak, from the largest herd of white park, in the country, Curtesy of the 'newt in somerset'.

very nice steak, so was the price, then they tried to over charge us by £140, for 3 of us. No wonder the man has £millions to spend !!
