Methane : Care for Planet Earth

Farmers produce methane to make a big profit; they are obviously responsible for oversupply and should change their poor management. And manage cattle so less methane is produced. As well as the massive grants they all get properly rather than buying Range Rovers

Do you have any evidence to back those claims?

You need to realise your being manipulated by BIG business, Eat- Lancet are funded by Uniliver, Bayer & Nestle , they don't make a lot of profit from small livestock farms they would rather make money from large industrial farms growing arable & Vegetables.
Cows are part of the answer to global warming as many top scientists have pointed out most eat grass that take CO2 out of the atmosphere, yes there are intensive livestock farms in the UK but there are many Outdoor / extensive units , which if prices are forced down will be driven out of business & all we will have left is industrial type farms . I hope you take time to research different types of farming so that you won't make the same mistake again by tarring us all with the same brush.

How did the op know that I produce methane to turn it into electricity. Shame that my methane does not come from cattle but does come from trees. Rather scuppers his argument although we all do like to make a profit its normally part of the business model. As for grants in your dreams.

Thank you Treg for a rationale response, the rest were chimp responses.

To be fair your initial post was a bit of a chimp post, so encouraged responses in the same vain.

But I 100% agree with @Treg

Would this be Professor Peter Smith with his Nourish Scotland campaign just so that we can be clear who your talking about.

That's ok(y) The problem is there's very little independent work done now a days & even universities can be influenced by Businesses/ lobby groups.
I've just seen the BBC news that has said to reduce meat consumption but the lady they had on suggested eating more Broccoli instead of Beef as it's better for the environment!!! Ground has to be ploughed to produce broccoli which releases Co2 back into the atmosphere, also the ground is not fully covered so there is lots of soil run off. The UN says one of the biggest threats to the plant is loss of soils , only 60 yrs of cropping left.

UN produced the 1200 page report, Iam guessing they paid for it.
[UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Geneva report I refer to ]
