MF 135 50k

At this stage in my Massey fergonson 135 ( industrial ) restoration I have got to the point where I’m rebuilding everything cause everything is f*cked, worn, cracked, leaking, stripped or botched. At this stage all that is left is a hollow housing with diff, half axles and transmission. Everything else needed love and is out. Since I’m in no rush and want to learn I have a notion of converting tractor to 50k using kit in picture below ( will replace friction plates and bearings while in there ).
Is this a good idea?
What gear becomes 50k?
How much work is there to swap out shaft and gear?
anyone know of a YouTube video or blog where it was done or know how to do it themselves?
Cheers
Patrick

What gearbox have you got now?
It says the kit is for the 4 speed box only which is actually an 8 speed due to the high and low range.
I've never seen a 135 with an 8 speed box. It's either 6 speed standard or 12 speed multi power.

I have seen tik tok videos of some lad with a standard turbo charged Massey 35x. It does 50 or 55k.

I know people will think its daft but it Would be a cool thing to have at a tractor run or show. As long as your careful and not stupid it should be safe enough . Don't do the 50k going down a hill or where a corner is coming up.

Now Then..
Why would you want to go so fast on a thing with poor brakes at best which only act on the rear wheels and steering which can be a little vague at times.. Also, the maximum speed for a tractor in the UK is as far as I recall 40 Kmh..
Good thing I’m across the Irish Sea where the Garda would pull out the phone and stick the video of you flying by at 50k on his Facebook

Do you think the tractor would still be suitable for a bit of work, e.g running a drum mower, pulling turf trailer and on a transport box, that’s my real worry, I am the only one that would drive it and know well how quickly you can lose a light little tractor with little rubber steering it at speed

I imagine the website is referring to the 6 speed they just have it a bit wrong, counting reverse as a gear

Sorry I'm no good to you. I was only ranting on about the unusual 50k 35x I saw on Tik tok.

Be good to see it pass a 2 beacon Fendt on the road

I have a four speed 135. This one is a narrow (French ? built one )

I doubt it would have the power to get up to 50K

Their will be 8 speed box tractors in Ireland , sales of 100 series Masseys continued for a year after the Q cabs became a legal requirement in the UK ,8 speed boxes were an option on the final ones. Top gear will be level or downhill job.

So now that I have half convinced myself I want this, I need to find a kit for the 6 speed box. I find it weird the conversion kit is for the rarest transmission?

I find it weird that there is seemingly an off the shelf kit to make a 135 50k full stop tbh. Saying that it may be that somebody has worked out that by mixing and matching a few parts from a different gearbox you can make a 50k one (which may explain needing the rarest gearbox.

Once had a new MF 350 2wd about 1992. It would do nearly 30mph on road. Built with wrong gears , was designed for German market only.
Very dangerous on road, dealer replaced bull gears, so did 19 mph after, a lot better. Reverse gear in high was useless before gears changed.
