did some of the industrial tractors not have front brake option ?
On David browns they did, never seen them on masseys.did some of the industrial tractors not have front brake option ?
its maybe that I am thinking of .On David browns they did, never seen them on masseys.
my industrial 135 does about 16mph flat out,one from the late 70s so presumably a 565 rear axle.
I have an 8 speed 135 built in Coventry around 73/74. Sold new in New ZealandFrench built ones had it. There was one for sale at a local collective some years ago.
All the 8 speed Coventry ones sold in the UK were the 148, which had all of 2 extra horses and a spacer in the middle to lengthen the wheelbase by 6 inches. The 135 was only sold as a six speed or twelve speed Multi Power. There was nothing stopping them selling 8 speed 135’s of course, except their marketing department. There were shuttle options also.I have an 8 speed 135 built in Coventry around 73/74. Sold new in New Zealand
Depending on the age and spec and tyres fitted to Coventry tractors, the standard gearboxes had top speeds of 15 [25kph], 18.5mph [30kph] or with MultiPower up to 22mph [35kph], all approximate. If you could drive at 23-25 mph at Just over half throttle that would be very nice.. don’t have to sit at 30mph! I Believe my mf 65 industrial is higher geared than the red standard one?
Massey seemed to have more than one type of industrial 3 cylinder tractors. Some (20?) appeared to be little more than a 135 with slightly different spec. Others had the larger inboard disc rear axles and outboard drum brakes as well (203/5 and 40).On David browns they did, never seen them on masseys.

Yes,mines a 40,some are just a yellow 135.Massey seemed to have more than one type of industrial 3 cylinder tractors. Some (20?) appeared to be little more than a 135 with slightly different spec. Others had the larger inboard disc rear axles and outboard drum brakes as well (203/5 and 40).
There are millions of those gearboxes worldwide, so it's hardly surprising there are so many parts availableI find it weird that there is seemingly an off the shelf kit to make a 135 50k full stop tbh. Saying that it may be that somebody has worked out that by mixing and matching a few parts from a different gearbox you can make a 50k one (which may explain needing the rarest gearbox.
20 is effectively a 135 with a speedometerMassey seemed to have more than one type of industrial 3 cylinder tractors. Some (20?) appeared to be little more than a 135 with slightly different spec. Others had the larger inboard disc rear axles and outboard drum brakes as well (203/5 and 40).
How did they do the dual brakes?20 is effectively a 135 with a speedometer
And probably dual brakes
AFAIK, Almost double width brake drums with a standard set of shoes for the foot brakes and a thinner set mounted between the back plate and the standard shoes, for a cable operated handbrake. How did they do the dual brakes?
Exactly as agrimax said, I will get a photo, I've a 20D on the go at the momentHow did they do the dual brakes?
