Have heard through grapevine (reliable) that timber is starting to slow as timber is sat on docks Yarmouth and Ipswich and being offered to merchants at reduced rates to clear before next loads turn up, just need steel to follow suit!
Shed maker predicted exactly this months ago, even said August.
Not that I'd put much reliability on him because he never got back to me with the quote I asked him for, twice!

Our local timber merchant is only supplying account holders and "regulars". They are getting their usual supplies, but are looking after their regular customers and turning others away.
They are are the only reliable supply of cement at the moment around here. We are 20 miles from Rugby, but the cement (which they have always stocked) is Welsh!

I was on a large construction site run by Mclaren this week, the site manager said a lot of the material suppliers are now only dealing with last years customers, for example SIG are only supplying any company with the same amount of product they bought last year.

The tanker driver did say they just got 2 loads of powder up from England. Rival firm with quarrys and a few batching plants from Elgin/Inverness/Alness had 7 tankers running from Elgin up to a wind farm about Lairg as that was the only plant that had powder. I am hoping to get another 3 tankers organised for the first week in August.
ah....that'll be one of those loved up carbon friendly windfarms then.......
