Rescued a neighbors 620 yesterday. Circlip came off the planitery gears in the back end and the pins came out and went through the casting. 3years old 1500 hours. Dealer told him he's on his own. Bit worrying happening at such low hours.
Have you worked out what it will cost you over the 5 years? Dealer services must cost approx £1 an engine hour over DIY plus the cost of the actual warranty. I can see the attraction but some times wonder how big the bill needs to be to break evenThat’s why my new one on order is going on 5 years maxicare

Must admit I was surprised. When we ran claas, they did a lot to help in various problems but that was a different dealer. I'd expect a generous discount on the parts at the very least but so far no. It needs a new casting and everything internal apart from the half shaft. Quite an expense at 1500 hours. I won't say anymore until we see what happens in the next few days but the initial dealer response was pretty much "go forth and multiply"That's poor form by the dealer
Imo you'r neighbor should contact Claas directly, usually a manufacturer is much more keen in fixing things up than a dealer (or they can kick some speed on the dealer).Must admit I was surprised. Let me guess is he going Valtra. The biggest contractor around these parts with 30 tractors bought a class two years ago as it was a lot cheaper than JD or MF , it has given plenty of small bits of trouble , enough for him to never buy another class .
It was less then a grand when we priced them up. 660 is Cmatic only.About 5k I expect!
He's waiting on a demo but currently has mostly JD and a few Massey .Let me guess is he going Valtra.
Out of interest is it claas own design the gear box ?660 only comes in C-matic CVT box.

I thought they were Gima, built alongside the Massey Dynas being very similar?Apparently it is.
Powershifts are the same as Massey whereas the Cvt is a modified Zf (or atleast was).I thought they were Gima, built alongside the Massey Dynas being very similar?
