Just wondered what those who have either of the machines might choose.
Tractor will have a loader and be used as a cultivation work ploughing disking etc and general use

How can you compare the two? New Hollnd is top of there range, 165hp plus boost CVT that will have electric spools to what JD class as the entry level model with 155hp and basic manual gearbox. Surely you should be comparing a T7.190/210 Classic to the JD 6155m or NH T7190/210 to a JD auto power to be a fair comparison. If your buying on price the NH will more than likely be 50kph too. Again this will lead to an unfair comparison.
If you do any amount of road work bear in mind that New Holland offer the exhaust brake, this works fantastically well and saves tractor break wear.

If they are the same money then I’d go for the one with the best warranty package, and I presume you can get 0% finance on the Deere and not the newholland? This may not apply if your a cash buyer tho.

A MY2020 6155M is 172hp, no boost. So on draft work isn’t far off the New Holland power wise. Depends what work it’ll be doing, on heavy PTO work the Jd will be a little way behind power wise

Please explain being totally unbiased as the both have good and bad points
Ok unbiased, the jd is new and nh is year old. So ur buyin a new tractor that u are sure no1 else has abused before and the jd will be worth more second hand than a nh. Yes the nh is higher spec but the op obviously doesnt need all the spec or they wouldnt be askin about a jd powerquad

What is a t7 210 back end like for duty compared to a 230/235? Is it much more durable? Say they were both on the same type of gear box i.e both PC or both AC, are the gearboxes any heavier in the LWB?

I currently run a jd 6155r and really like it. It pulls well too.
I want to change another tractor - my intention was for a good second hand.
Wanted it as a loader tractor but it will also do cultivation work. I previously demoed a Puma a couple of years ago and liked it - it pulled really well.
Was looking for another 6155r but pretty pricey. Have been offered an M instead.
Also come across the NH and having liked the Puma though this might be good too.
I don’t look at boost figures too much as they don’t always deliver the power when you want it e.g ploughing.
I look at tractor data to check HP. So the NHL’s 165 the JD 155. An extra 10hp not to be sniffed at.
I’ve not had a vario box, but did try one in a puma - and yes it’s nice.
As far as depn, the NH has already had its biggest hit as it’s not new, the JD will take a big hit there too. So the NH represents good value and it has more power. 4 spools as opposed to 3 handy if you ploughing with your loader tractor.
With JD I’m pretty confident with reliability. ESP with autoquad box. As for Nrh, well I’ve no experience there.
The NH is cheaper btw.
As for comparing like with like, I think if I was comparing same spec NH to JD and I could afford the JD the that’s what it would be. But based on budget, the benefits of a higher specked NH with a bit more grunt and a smooth gearbox is tempting.

Thanks for all you input everyone it’s appreciated.

If the NH is cheaper, has identical warranty and you intend to fit a loader then as far as I can see your mind is made up. Hopefully it has an exhaust brake as well. Loaders and CVT transmissions are like peas and carrots- it's the only way to fly and once you have been using one for any length of time you won't ever go back. Smoother on man, implement and machine.
