You must be an optimist keeping NCC.... (only joking!)hopefully 2 gimmer lambs a piece
He has being very thorough which I like to seeFrom the amount of raddle the ram is treating them…
You must be based in Scotland......I’m to tight to throw it out though so will have to keep using it!
Steady on!!! Can see the border with Yorkshire from here, think that has a bit to do with it!You must be based in Scotland......
Over 160% last year I meantScanned at 137%, less than last year they were over 170%! Probably about right for Cheviots though so happy enough
Is it easy to find true blues still, do you know of anyone using the crossing types over cheviots?Few Cheviot mule lambs coming now. These are to new blue tups so really happy so far, easy born, lively, early days but happy
Yes still plenty of proper blues around, so plenty of sales for them. Ive used a crossing type before when I was short of a real blue tup and left nice enough lambs just a bit narrower and more spindly, few dark patches on there’s faces which doesn’t bother me but if your going to sell the gimmer lambs it’s not as desirable. Still a traditional blue is a far better sheep in my unbiased opinionIs it easy to find true blues still, do you know of anyone using the crossing types over cheviots?
