Hey guys. I need some feedback from guys running some of the tractors I'm going to mention. We are sitting with a difficult choice to make. Currently running a Landini 7-200 but its starting to give trouble and only sitting at 1200h. We decided to rather take the loss now and replace the tractor. Its our main tractor and does about 1400h a year. Does about a 1000h of ripping/subsoiling with a 9 tine Rovic leers ripper. Picture to follow. Its a very heavy ripper since its a frame that actually takes 15 tines but we modified it. The rest it does odd jobs like pulling the Mchale baler, mowing, feeding etc. Thats the reason I need to stay on the mentioned tractors size. A bigger 8R size tractor would be a waste to run on the smaller implements.
Looking at the following tractors to replace it with so any real world feedback would be greatly appreciated. Working on ZAR20 to 1 pound to give purchase prices.
John Deere 6195M with command arm, greenstar with 4240 screen, command quad transmission, front suspension, cab suspension, full weights, 710 rear and 600 front Trelleborg tyres. Purchase price 113750 pounds. Trade price on Landini 48000 pounds. Only available in 3 months
Massey Ferguson 7724 with dyna 6 transmission, front suspension. No cab suspension and no gps system. 710 rear and 600 front tyres. Demo model with 115h on the clock. Full warranty still in place. Purchase price 97500 pounds. Trade price on Landini 50000 pounds. Available now.
Fendt 724 profi plus. So cab suspension, front suspension, front linkage and all the bells and whistles. Fendt not very big in SA yet. Second hand tractor with a 1000 odd hours on. Also on 710 rear and 600 front tyres. Purchase price 135000 pounds. Trade price for Landini 50000 pounds. Available now.
Case 225 cvt. Cab suspension, cvt transmission and the rest pretty basic on this unit. Purchase price is 110000 pounds. Still waiting on a trade price for my Landini.
650 rear and 600 front tyres. Available now.
I currently have a 6175M which I have used on the ripper. It handles the weight better than the Landini does. I think the front suspension plays a big part in that. It also has better traction than the Landini but Landini does pull a bit better since it has a bit more power. We have always experienced that the John Deeres do pull above their counterparts. We tried the Landini since it was 30000 pounds cheaper than the John Deere a year ago. Unfortunately the decision has come to haunt us now. I just dont want to make the same mistake we another brand if we dont go with John Deere.
Any feedback on people running the above tractors would be greatly appreciated. Even more if people made the move from one to the other. Especially from A brand to John Deere or Massey since they are my lead to options.
