Bag trade £270/£280 over here last couple of days, bulk £250 so would be surprised to hear of someone taking £220.

Wasn't McCain offering £300 a ton off the field for processing ?
So why are growers accepting less money, plus the cost of bags ?

Maybe a bit premature to say November, think we will see a drawn out greentop season as there are plenty of crops that growers will want to shift rather than store.
Once the doors are shut (and that will be late this year), then yes I think bag trade for reasonable samples will get there soon after.

Bit of pressure to clear more ground, with not many bag trade growers round here geared up to store much.
I expect they'd rather take 4-5k/acre now rather than gamble with late late lifting or inadeqate storage. We see the same pressure most seasons in Shropshire, think it will be a blip though.

Indeed, some crops doing that and some even better. Saw some bold Piper going off the farm at £300 this afternoon, probably an exception at that price just down to the sample.............

Had a dig about today, piper still have a bit to go before burn off -
A lot of mids still, these were 45-50mm seed and have 20-22 tubers per plant! The 35-45 have about 10-12 tubers per plant.
Dug some Agria for someone too -

If general ware is £300+ i’m certain there will be a home for mids, mini roasts or the like, might help towards next years seed expenses.

Firstly try not to grow them! Only had 15 boxes out of 550t sold last year. But they did end up as stock feed as it wasn’t worth them picking them up.
But generally try to get a bulker load together and sell them into a processing factory.
