Question for AC engineering?

What is special about these starters that you sell ... do they spin faster or more powerful or
what?
We used to have matbro teleram 3 with Perkins engine once when it was struggling to start I dismantled starter and cleaned parts and fitted new brushes and solenoid which improved things but when I fitted big capacity battery it fired up pretty good..... I figured out that the starter has a difficult job to do as well as turning engine it is also turning hydraulic pump and transmission

Plus one for effect on the manitou with merc engine, totally different machine, and less than half the price of what crappy genuine one was.

Used to take ages to get going with original starter, on cold mornings. could be 20-30mins fannying about. Now its started before it knows what’s happening.

big thumbs up 👍

Three more fitted here, JCB and Manitou telehandlers with Perkins engines, and one on the dreaded MF35 4 cylinder. The first two were poor starters and start every time on the button now, the 35 has gone from something you could start on a warm day with a tip top battery to something that fires up even on the coldest days. Admittedly the 35 has also since had a new head fitted with heater plugs which is also a great help but the starter preceded the engine rebuild and it made a massive difference just on its own. Super bits of kit.

They are a smaller motor spinning faster driving a set of reduction gears to give more torque than traditional starts while still looking like a normal shaped starter and often smaller motor body.

There not bomb proof! They do wear out and fail now and then but I think I only had 1 fail in warranty and that was to do with it engaging the flywheel rather than it not spinning over. For some reason it wasnt throwing in to the ring gear properly and kept missing and if left would have buggered ring gear but fortunately just replaced the starter and all was fine.

Iskra/mahle and Jubana are the only starter motors I have any faith in! I know when fitted they will spin that engine over better than what came off.

Nothing worth than selling some piece of crap copy of a lucas M45 or M50 and it turns engine over worse than the old one you took off.
The is hardly any one repairing starters now and when they do there using the same cheap parts you get in the copies so it's just a waste of time and money.

I've only sold a few Jubana starters apart from there weird looks they seem to perform well.

I've lost count how many iskra/mahle I have sold to people on here now but it's a fair few! I do run a banner add now and then for anyone thinking I dont give anything back to forum. Theres actually one been running for the past 5 months or so I think got another 6 or 7 months left I hope as bought 12months in advance.

My mate has an Case 844xl thats a misery to start. Could you pm me a price for a geared starter for it please.

Over the years we have changed most of my tractors and diggers to the geared type and cant recommend them enough.

A geared starter transforms an 844XL. Got a Jubana on mine and as far as I know Mahle now make one that fits.

Yes there is a Mahle to fit it, What size jubanna have you got on yours? there's 3.2kw and 2.8kw listed for the 844, Jubanna would be quite a lot cheaper on this one.

I wouldn't know off the top of my head and it'll be Tuesday before I'm at the farm to get a look. I'm sure it's 4 or 5 years since I put it on and it completely transformed the tractor.

and this is the 2.8kw Jubana, similar but no relay on it.

The 2.8kw looks more like mine, but I wouldn't have put a 2.8 on if there was a 3.2 available. I can look first thing on Tuesday and let you know. I had to add a relay between the key switch and the starter when I fitted it, maybe mine is an old model 3.2
