Hi
As above for doing hayledge please
only do about 150 bales a year but fed up of getting let down by contractors,(not always their fault)lost second cut this year as contractors either busy or broke down so want to bring it in house.
I mow and turn it myself so this way i can do it when i want.
doesn.t need to be fancy (cheaper the better for the amount i'll be doing)
have a jd6230 go on the front so not big hp
any advice gratefully received
thanks

how much would that be please mate?
bit tongue in cheek TBH.....i bought it outta genuine retirement sale last month but havn't used it yet cos i can't get the twine arm to trip artificially as yet and weather has been tricky so rather than bugger about in field i've been using my trusty vermeer 😍

TBH i've a notion that i might take it to the field and she'll work fine cos in order to tie she needs bale pressure so i'm gonna try her in straw....if it ever ripens:rolleyes:

i paid £1200 .....if you were interested she'd £1500 + vat.....you'd be welcome to come look and i'd put her on tractor so you'd see her working....there's no control box but it can be used without i'm told :)

you're absolutely right to be seeking your own baler IMO....i baled up 7ac hay last night.....looks better in bales than swath this morning i can tell you😍

Interesting, you said you have a Vermeer, I had one for 10 seasons in the 90s, good baler in its day.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
