Slurry suckers

Not a sucker but we have a joz robotic scraper. We've had it since November. It seems well built, the only two problems we've had are a loose cable inside between the control pad and the computer and getting the parking program right - although to be fair 99%of the issue with this is we haven't given it a big enough parking area. Overall we are very pleased with it. Speak to Tom Allison (Gareth Howells), they are importing them.

@Scoobyscotlad should have had his installed by now I think? Joz that is
P.s don't you graze for like 10 months of the year?
Yes graze a fair proportion of the year, we have issues where the automatic scrapers push the sh!t over the slats and what will become a big loafing yard that can’t be tractor scrapped. Plan was to put a big slatted tank in but it creates a big timing difficulty in that the window to complete the works is quite small so just considering all options.

also auto scrapers aren’t the cheapest things in the world to run.

Lely say that theirs won't do such a tidy job on an open yard, because it likes to have walls, kerbs etc as reference points, and it may leave little lines once it gets too too far away from them, probably not a big deal. Also, if have a large area, it means more traveling, so the robot can look after fewer cows. Each one can look after 120-140 cows, but there's a function of how much slurry it has to collect, and how much ground there is to cover, both cleaning, and going back to the tip point. At a bit over £30k each, you don't want to stretch it too much

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
