Biden and Boris (aka Dumb and Dumber) have already ruled out military action to defend Ukraine. Obviously because Putin has a proper army with guns and missiles and stuff not like those Arabs they like to fight in the name of freedom. Nope we’ll just refuse to buy Belarus tractors and Lada cars...

Putin has done this every year for the past few years. I think it's politically convenient for Boris to make a big song and dance about this. Obviously you never know for sure with Putin but he uses this to rally patriotic support for him.

In the grand scheme of things the Downing Street parties are relatively trivial, plenty of similar going on throughout the country amongst the wider population, it wasn’t just Borris plenty of others there too, all in positions where they ought to know better.


But there is a matter of principle too, these were the folk making the rules yet not following them, doesn’t say much for their integrity.

I doubt western countries would be pulling their people out of Ukraine if there wasn’t a serious threat of invasion.
Clearly more than a bit of annual sabre rattling.

Yes I'm sure at first they'd be hard to stop but occupying a vast country long term could be more difficult.

Look what happened in Afghanistan,it didn't go so well there for them or America / West either.

Putin will surely just unite NATO ever stronger.

I think the media is obsessed with Boris, and still can't get over him winning the referendum on EU membership, so all they are worried about is getting the majority of the country to get back behind the "right" decision! Yes, he has been a poor manager and leader, and I believe put too much effort behind the green/animal rights/rewilding agenda but there are bigger problem in the world at the moment, which the opposition should be concentrating on holding the government to account for. The biggest is the problems in the Ukraine, and thinking not just of the world food supply but the poor people who live there.

Unfortunately Nato is incredibly weak and ineffective, just like Europe. I fear the worst if europe/Nato actually had to organise to fight Russia. Their only real hope is economic ruin for Russia. However Europe will be in chaos without gas.
