So, with more and more christmas markets being cancelled. Will Lamma suffer the same feat?

They have Croptec to do first in November !

The official line is yes but not so sure myself

One of my commercial tenants runs an events company and they have said they are not returning to work until after Christmas, they work predominantly on events at the NEC

Reason i Ask is the NEC have a contract with the Government to use the NEC as a Nightingale Hospital for 12 months (ends March 2021 i think). So it could become a hospital just before or during the show!!!! Happy to be told I'm wrong on this. My brother is in the events industry and has nothing booked in his diary at all. So i do genuinely feel for them.

More curious as to how many farmers would be willing to attend.

Viewing from a distance, total numbers into a building, associated services like, food, pubs, hotels ,etc etc take a bit of working out most probably PLUS 2nd or 3rd Spikes by then to calculate or factor in???

Most non essential shows / ploughing matches / gatherings should be canceled for at least 18 months IMO. This headlong rush to " get back to normal " alarms me TBH.
I’d much rather go to a ploughing match than a pub from a safety point of view or no doubt a whole host of other things that are now opening up.

As for lamma, I wouldn’t like to bet on it happening but who knows what the covid situation will be by then, Euro Tier has been re scheduled for February so the Germans are hopeful things will be better by then.

Have many of you been out in public recently?

My feeling is that people generally aren't really bothered about social distancing.

Been to b&q, halfrauds, petrol station. Not many places admittedly. But I get the feeling people don't care if they are closer than 2m, following 1 way systems etc. I don't want to upset anyone so haven't been going close to anyone but personally I'm not bothered if they are close to me. They don't seem bothered about going close past me. If anyone looks self conscious going wrong way down 1 way system I just say I'm not bothered carry on.

Well, cv ain’t gone away, it’s still outthere and in reasonable numbers.
It came into the country fairly early in the year, probably in a relatively small number of people and multiplied up fairly rapidly before lockdown.
Today there are almost certainly more people carrying cv than came into the country with it and things are to a large degree getting back to normal, so if it doesn’t flare up again I’m at a loss to explain why.
Possibly the virus weakening with age?

Is the hospital not already built but just mothballed?

Raises the question how they could fit Lamma in if some of the halls are already occupied by hospital beds! Stand build could be a bit challenging but would provide easy accommodation for exhibitors :)

I think all big exhibition centres have been ear marked to be available should the need arise. Would you fancy going to a show next to a Covid -19 hospital?

Local cider festival think they are going to be able to go ahead in September as “outdoor concerts” are allowed.

Hard work to do social distancing I would think especially with a few thousand there.

That said there isn’t much evidence of that around in many places sadly.
