You may know this already, but sadly Seale-Hayne is no more either.

I think with BSE (then FMD) UK agriculture was in the doldrums and Wye had diversified into Equine courses but nothing broader. Undergrad entries were plummeting and the finances were in a hole.Very sad to see such an iconic institution allowed to be destroyed
I think that Wye bankrupted themselves building that new tech building or whatever it was opposite the squash courts that is now a school I think, they had to sell to someone.I think with BSE (then FMD) UK agriculture was in the doldrums and Wye had diversified into Equine courses but nothing broader. Imperial stepped up with a mountain of cash, thinking they could sell the college farm for building and a deal was done. It was all sold to everyone by Imperial on the basis that Wye's facilities and huge international reputation for research would be prized by Imperial for eternity.
Loads or random business studies courses were started, but in no time at all (by 2004?) all the undergrad courses had been closed.
(There's probably much more to it, but that's the summary as I remember it)
I understood that the farm has now been sold to the tenant?
Mr Attwood?, a contemporay of mine I believe.Yes, a Wye graduate.

Was there 1990 - 93 - at that point Wye was part of Imperial College, it seemed Imperial were trying to close it down as cost more to run than their other colleges not understanding how different it was. Fantastic 3 years!I think that Wye bankrupted themselves building that new tech building or whatever it was opposite the squash courts that is now a school I think, they had to sell to someone.
I quite like being an Imperial Alumnus though.
What a shame that it is no more, I understood that the farm has now been sold to the tenant?
@delilah ?
Looks like luxury flats?
The Old Lecture Theatre would certainly be a unique space to live in.
