why do the powers that be not know this and why is the negative press no countered ?

There is a lot of bad/pseudo science out there. You will frequently find that the real scientists findings are simply hijacked and misinterpreted often on purpose by organisations pushing their own agendas or to sex it up. And 99% of the public will make their decisions on these lightweight summaries via the media.

Following on from the excellent sheet from @delilah:

We have broken this slide into 10 mini info-graphics and added to each to make them all different, but with a common theme.

If we can use the farming network to share each one of these, then there is no reason over the 11 info-graphics (we have added an additional one) we should be able to reach millions of people.

The above summary flyer we posted in January ended up with around 300 shares and reach way over 100k just on Facebook alone, but with the number of farmers on Facebook, we should be able to get get this figure into the millions.

This is the first one from the series:

We will put them on TFF Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Please share them and get as many farmers to share them a possible. We will do one a week for the next 10 weeks.

Please share and tag other farmers in this thread so they are see it.

Its time to make our voice heard.
Would it be worth bringing the very informative graphics to the attention of the marketing /publicity department,of the major supermarkets, to educate their customers about why the population needs a farming industry,to create the countryside .
Dread to think how much “Saatchi and Saatchi”, would have charged in fees to come up with your brilliant graphics idea.;):rolleyes:

I had hoped they would have engaged more so far. But its early days. The more these appear on social media the more they will get attention. At the moment, I'd just like the farming community to get behind them. It we won't help ourselves, why should they.

But we do appeaciate what you say, its hasn't taken up that much time, but I wish I could dedicate more to it.

I am sure that if you put two clever scientists head to head of opposing opinions , they will be clever enough to convince people that they are both right , which ever side you are on.

It helps I suppose but these messages need to be more forceful and targeting environmental, vegans, media and any other sites, as farmers we already know. Things like "eat grass fed meat and save the planet" "Daisy is doing her bit to clean up your environmental mess" etc

What helps more is likes and shares - why on earth does that AHDB only have 15 likes and 6 shares ??? !!!!

It’s no good us farmers expecting others to improve our situation if we don’t do what we can as well - sharing these messages for TFF, NFU, AHDB is the responsibility of every single farmer with a social media account

The TFF infographics have achieved very good reach so far but there are many farmers who have clearly seen them but still choose to not share them .............. why is that ??

Have any of you had any feed back ,good or bad, about the "Info Graphic Series",from the likes of Chris Packham and George Monbiot etc etc,who will know doubt have seen the graphics somewhere on social media.??? I guess the answer to my question will unfortunately be , "dream on" . Oh well perhaps just as well as some people are so tunnel visioned one cannot reason with them.:banghead:

I'm consciously playing devil's advocate here.

The arguments will be that biodiversity and the greater carbon absorption capability in forests is being lost in places like Brazil to make way for cattle grazing. Of more relevance to UK farming is intensive and non grass fed livestock farming which produces more damaging gasses (especially US style grain fed cattle) without the mitigants you outline in your posters.

I think there is a danger in overselling, we don't want media outlets castigating these.

I'm not trying to be critical, just a bit cautious.

Regards

Tom
My understanding is that forest clearing and cattle farming are part of the biodiversity, basically as land is cleared, farmed, abandoned, and then reverts each of those areas is a separate environment, the edge of the forest is an environment as is regenerating forest.
