Which telehander

I’m thinking of buying a new or newish handler for my farm . Only thing I specify is the width . Narrow passage so nothing wider than 6,6. With it being a narrow passage im thinking centre pivot would be better for visibility but not sure. Closest dealer sells merlo but no centre pivot. Would a centre pivot be more cobbly than a rigid machine ? Any advice would be appreciated

Manitou 625-75, is 6ft wide and 6ft high, lifts 2.5t to 5.9m and is hydrostatic transmission. Ground clearance is better than the equivalent Merlo which is very low to the ground. Plenty of ex hire machines with low hours as they are favoured for the building sites where space is limited. Good second hand be around 30k, new will be mid 40s.

Downsides, not good in a field if it's wet, only 30k road speed and no pick up hitch.

We're on our 3rd one here as change when warranty is up.

Not too fussed on being in fields as have plenty other tractors . I have an old 26 year old manitou that doesn’t do much on our other farm and although it’s age I like it compared to loader tractor .

I think from the manitou stable you have to choose between the MT or MLT 625 as said above which isnt a bad machine at all so long as you dont need ground clearance! or the new manitou baby pivot steer which i mostly a Gehl loader with a tele boom on it. (manitou now own Gehl)

Down side of the MLA 516 is its rather poor lift capacity by the looks of it only 1600kgs which doesn't even compete with the old Matbro TR200 really like FWI are indicating!

Schaffer will do a pivot steer the right width for you with much higher lift than that, How wide is a JCB TM220???

Fairly local I have Schafer and weiderman dealers too. Haven’t looked closely at either yet

spec sheet on the MLA 516 is a bit vague, The max payload as per EN474-3 is not something i'm familiar with!
Normally i would rate a pivot steers max lift at 500mm load centers on the pallet forks and on full lock. which they indicate 2ton so maybe it is in the matbro TR200 ball park capacity.

Merlo 32.6 is 6’6” ish wide, better lift capacity and more comfortable than the Manitou 625, but build quality is not as good. Not new but a low hour machine should be considered.
