I watched it last night and echo all the above sentiments.

I really felt for Angus, what a bum pack of cards to be dealt, but the way he has stepped up is impressive, along with the other guys who were helping him.

I do hope he gets some support from his neighbours, even if it is only to pop in for a chat, it looks pretty remote up there.

Just follow this tweet and read the comments. Tells you all you need to know about the respect Simon Reeve is held in.

I sincerely hope Angus the young farmer gets the support he needs and feel sure he will succeed. He certainly has some great “true” friends.

me too... I honestly cant imagine what that situation must be like. When you are 18 you think you know everything but you really dont. Taking on a business like that. Really wish him well.

I watched about 40 mins. It was okay but I didn’t like the way he ridiculed the first couple, he was also factually incorrect to say the lakes are mainly privately owned - the three biggest land owners are the National Trust, United Utilities and the Forestry Commission and they will own well in excess of 50% of the park. What really narks me about re wilding is that no one mentions United Utilities and the fact they are mainly owned by French investors, the re wildling will only benefit the money men in France who have invested in a company that makes over £70k per minute profit - customers or the public won’t benefit as he suggested in his rose tinted glasses. He also stated that sheep farming is in decline in the lakes and youngsters were moving away - nothing could be further from the truth, there are literally hundreds of young couples desperate for a fell farm in the lakes - farms that are being abandoned and neglected for the sake of egotistical conservationists and greedy blue chip companies. That all said I thought the farmers Richard Maxwell and Gail and David Thompson came across really well. Didn’t see the bit with the young lad yet.

Steady on Sid, I’m pretty sure Simon Reeve is a country mile from being two faced. As already said on this thread find the programme on his life story; it’s really rather interesting.
He's some boy. I've watched a lot of what he's produced, and am yet to see a show I've not enjoyed. Has a really good style of interviewing, and is well worth looking out for.

Has been in, and seen some insane settings and surroundings, having picked himself up from some pretty low places.
