Now that the 2.8 is a couple of years old what are peoples thoughts on it. Fancy getting an Invincible X a year or 2 old. Interested in what people on here think, cheers.

All the crew cabbers. Who needs a five seat work vehicle? I have never seen five farmers in a pick-up. Waste of money and no load space! Meh!
Discuss.
SS
will be taking mrs drill lady and drill master junior with me tomorrow to pick some cattle up. Can’t do that in a 2 seater.

as for the gearbox, Manuals will be consigned to the history books within the next 10 years, so buy the far superior in every way auto.

With the long lead times for new it seems that any second hand 2.8’s are pretty scarce and perhaps somewhat overpriced, think I would be tempted to wait 6 months or so if you can to see if reduced demand with a recession let’s supply catch up, there won’t be any good deals to be had until forecourts are full of stock again.

I’m sure there will plenty of stock unsold in next 6/12 months and big discounts appearing again.

Last update we had on a Jan/feb order was April delivery. At the time a gr sport (?) was offered for supposedly July past, but didn't fancy the spec (bit too much bling) or price. Maybe that was rash.

I had an invincible x 2.8 auto for 3 weeks as a hire truck, I thought it was bloody awful, bugger all torque , ride as rough as. I couldn’t wait to give it back. Maybe there saving grace is hopefully they don’t go wrong

thanks for the reply’s, going from a two car family to a one car family. I need something that can tow etc so it needs to be a pickup and I want it to be a nice one with some of the “toys”, was looking at the Ranger Wildtrak but seeing lots of negative posts on various forums so switched my attention to the Hilux as reliability appears to be better 🤷‍♂️

What’s your normal drive or what you comparing it with?

My neighbour has a 2.8 auto, which I ran into the market one day when mine (3.2 Ranger) was in the hospital. Liked the engine, it towed well enough, but it wasn’t comfortable at all, I’m tall and I felt like my arse was on the floor pan, seats were old fashioned and unsupportive. I came away a bit underwhelmed.

Then I remembered my Ford was in the garage. Again. And concluded that that was the trade off with the hilux.
