Too many farmers have got into campsites and huts this year and killed the job.

We have put prices by a small a mount to keep place with inflation on our shepherds hut and are down in bookings this year.
People I know who staycation said many places had doubled and more in price

We could have put prices up a lot but thought better to keep prices reasonable and keep people coming back get a lot of repeat bookings
I saw an article a week or so ago where PaddyAir and SqueezyJet reported increased passenger numbers all over.
Because the euro carriers have reduced their fleets of planes

a lot of it is how far your coin can go at a set amount and mostly you get away from this country for a break in good weather, not always, but mostly!

Chatting to one of my neighbours that bought a new build beginning of 2020 ,just before covid .
First she couldnt go on holiday ,now she cant afford to with higher mortgage rates .

I’d say paying a reasonable price for food would be bottom for most
The sheep have all bucked off to magaluf again. I found with Cattery. 2020 was poor, 2021 was good with stay cations, 2022 was mental with people going twice with covid holidays and booked out 4 times over this years more normal with all European normal destinations. Surprising lot go for 3 weeks!

With the Welsh Senedd cottage letting criteria changes and business rates, Proposed Tourism levy , local Authority draconian views to highways signage, planning etc etc NO incentive to bother really?
Along with the cost of living crisis, food increases, utilities increases, interest rates gone up etc etc not good out there.

Tracking planes the other night and surprisingly noted how many carriers have their planes chartered to other airlines too.

We have my wife’s Spanish friend arrriving next week to escape the European heatwave. Might find in years to come that the flow of tourists is not in the usual direction! Wet and windy could be draw.

Had a friend round yesterday , they got a lovely holiday cottage in foot of black mountains , very busy in the spring but quiet now, got a late booking for 4 days this week then nothing till 2nd week of August .
They are thinking it maybe better to go for long term residential letting instead .
