Anyone else finding their bookings are well down on last year? Expenses are the same spending a lot of time cutting grass an keeping ablutions clean etc.
I wonder if it's lack of spending power or they're all back to flying off.

The shepherds hut holiday is definitely being over done who wants to pay 150 pounds a night to stay in a tiny glorified wooden caravan in crappy weather in the UK saying that I'm paying 60 pounds anight for a mobile home near Scarborough

Everyone appears to be going to Devon &/or Cornwall. To go most places we have to get on or cross the A303. We live just before the ‘303 turns into the A30. Went to pick my boy up from preschool just before 3.30 & traffic going south was nose to tail. No one could join at the crossroads. I ended up turning around & going the back roads. Came back the main road & it was still the same.

Our Airbnb is doing as well as ever but we seem to be getting a lot more short stays - 1 or 2 nights each. More hassle but without them I think it would be a different story.
What sort of occupancy % are you managing to get if you don’t mind me asking. Airbnb seem to think 50-60% is achievable. Thanks.

We’ve got 2 empty nights this month, but i were not busy in July there’s something very wrong. Just worked the average figures out for the first 6 months of the year and it works out to 72%. July and August are 92% average.

Thanks for that. 70-90% seems fairly good to me. We’re tempted to do Airbnb on a small cottage that we have renovated. My wife is keen but I’m not sure if the hassle is worth it but we’d be glad of the income.

I shut my airbnb so I could live in it while the farmhouse was renovated. I have had a few enquiries from past guests asking why they couldn’t find the listing.
@CORNFLAKE I had a minimum stay of two nights as washing and cleaning is still the same making input for a one night stay costly.

Our caravan site is definitely a bit quieter this year. Talking to a TUI stewardess on a flight back from Gran Canaria in June and they are busier than ever and leasing extra planes in to cope.

Holiday cottage bookings were a bit slow up to xmas but are filling in now.
Best move was to tell Sykes to put them up £100 a week and not to discount them so bloody quick.
