Claas wagons

Was told once a few years ago that Claas had wagons to complete their forage line up, didn't push their sales and didn't do much R&D or placement. Just wanted to have a full portfolio. That was told to me by a senior Claas rep.

Sorry @Beef farmer , for doubting you, It just amazes me that a big forage equipment manufacturer like Claas can produce something so bad. The design principal of these rotor wagons had been around for over 30 years. What is essentially quite simple technology. It just goes to show that overcomplicating a machine just to have features different from the other manufacturers doesn't allways work. Malone on the other hand have gone for simple and strong engineering, which is what is required.
Mowers, rakes, tedders, foragers and combines no doubt are top of the tree. I guess not everyone can have the perfect lineup.

We had a demo of their new round baler last year, was very impressed. Apparently they've beefed it up massively, some of the bearings are now double the strength of previous ones, and they no longer send power through the top roller so shouldnt have any issues with them breaking. Makes me wonder if a refresh for the wagon is coming as well

I can only speak for my self. But i have allway have JF before, but i have a salesman how have been a friend for many year who sell me Masseys over the year. He quit and start sale Claas and I never change brand of tractor, but he give me a deal for a Cargo 9500 so i go for that, and I must say it have work fine now for me in two season. Maybe is that so we are "brandfetish" and have a idea what brand diffrent machinery shall have. I can say truly o have been that, and allways have Pöttinger for mower and Väderstad for seeder and cultivator for example. But now i shall order a Sip tripple mower and looking for a lemken seeder. But my Masseys i never change : -)

As in every discussion on this forum there’s always two sides to a coin to balance the debate.

Ive a cargos 8300 for couple years now and had no problem with it at all expect for a manufacturer modification. The dealer has looked after me which was one of the key points to purchasing the machine.
At the time of purchasing the machine I was almost convinced it’ll be a strautmann but after inspecting the cargos I was impressed and price offered was considerably cheaper than strautmann.
I have no issues with chop quality and my customers haven’t said anything negative yet I keep returning to them.
Did have some slight issues with wagon indicating it’s full but would have a void at the back about third way up the door. I’ve tinckered with settings and it’s a lot better.
The wagon may appear small to look at but the front meter of the floor slopes directly to back of the rotor so the height of the wagon from the front of floor to top of the wagon is quite high and I think causes a lot of compression in the grass which I think requires more power.
Claas claim it can compact 60cube of material but I don’t quite think it’ll achieve that without a serious mound above the wagon and spilling a pile everywhere.
