How long before biggest dealers pack up

With the way things are and no improvement on the horizon ,how long will it be before a huge dealer shuts up shop.they mostly got very large expensive premises and massive stocks of parts and machines but they will be suffering the same as the smaller dealers.seems to be a weekly occurrence of...

    Grain maize questions

Just thinking aloud here.. Getting on for spring barley, maybe better off with something else. Thinking a couple of ton of grain maize off the 10a might be better. Would be all fed in house to beef. Can sow it with the combi, Have small conventional combine header to cut it(if it will do it)...

    Hp vs fuel use

Bit of a silly question but basically would a 6 cylinder 150 hp tractor use 50% more diesel than a 100 hp 4 cylinder both doing the same work say a 3m power harrow in same conditions. Roughly same age of tractor’s.

    Last years un-mown grass

Neighbours have asked me to help them out. They’ve a couple of paddocks they cut for hay but got let down last year and it never got cut. So now it’s about 6-12” deep of last years crop and needs something doing with it. 1 flail it to about 4” and hope new growth comes through and the...

    Re mapping

I’ve never been a fan for tractors. Just have a tractor big enough, surely 🤷‍♂️ But, I bought a mower a couple of years after the tractor and it’s fine for second cut but at times with first cut I’m maxing at 8k. Not the end of the world but out of curiosity, when at the dealer I asked what they...

    alternatives to shakearator legs

I've taken on a few fields and want to subsoil due to past management decisions. I don't do any currently except where I've made a mess with a 16000 L tanker, and using the shaky legs is just to disruptive to the surface and structure. I'd like a leg that is much gentler in it's approach...

Hi there! Has anyone heard of Toscano agricultural machinery before? I've only just started hearing their name in Europe and I'm curious to hear about your experiences with them. I'm particularly interested in their power harrows and rotary tillers. What are your thoughts on this brand, and...

Winter cover crops on heavy land... what a disaster

I farm heavy silty clay with flints. No ditches, no land drains. Good strong wheat land, if unforgiving. I've been trying to grow cover crops on and off for the last 9 yrs. With one exception, they have all been disastrous. Summer cover crops in place of a spring crop, on the other hand, can...

    Einbock Grass Harrow Tines

Evening chaps, Harrow is needing some new tines, mainly used for harrowing horse paddocks and haylage ground. 7mm and 8mm tines available, which is better? 7mm tines are more expensive for some reason, I thought 8mm would be better? thanks
