I am growing 25 acres of new crop this year, weed control is challenging so looking for an interview cultivator.

As no-one grows veggies this far north on scale I have little knowledge need a 6 row 45 cm spacing. Not sure whether it's rotary or tine front or rear mounted would like to mount on 2wd IH 785 or Case JXU105 so a wee bit education would be good. Land is Sandy loam weeds are fat hen, mayweed, bindweed, groundsel and volunteer cereals and OSR.

Front mounted steeridge hoe works well as you can steer it easily between the rows. There will be plenty of older machines which will do your job well without too much capital. If you want something “smart“ then a camera guided Garford would tick that box. Have a look at @Muddyroads pictures in the today at work thread on here.

What are you growing? If you have an Einbock or similar grass harrow they are very effective at taking out small weeds both before emergence of your crop and up until the plants are too big and suffering damage. It can look a bit brutal but once fat hen gets established it’s a sod. 7mm tines are a bit better than 8mm as they oscillate more.
45cm row spacing is very wide so you’ll have a lot of room for weeds to grow. Front mounting gives you better visibility to the sides but if you’re on RTK, a rear mounted beet type hoe will work just as well. Unless you’re on flat ground you want to work up and down slopes to prevent the hoe from crabbing.
