Interesting To know what inventions people have turned their plastic drums into.
we just have a sledge for moving a fresh calve but I bet theres more creative things to do with them

I struggle for medical reasons with bending over to garden, so I have a line of half-height barrels as raised beds by the kitchen window for veggies. Hole drilled half way down for drainage and a top up of muck each winter.

Used one with a 'dog flap' cut out one end as a dog kennel once, blanket inside and nailed to a plank so it didn't keep rolling over.

Cut lengthways for feed troughs.

I give most of them away now, water butts or horse jumps seem to be the most popular, in return for a charity donation.

I have used them for manholes in a hedge drain where pipes meet at an angle , but the smaller half size ones are best for that , a paving slab over the top and connectors made out of bale wrap cores ,which are nearly 4 inch also cut the flat part out (once unpeeled and used it as a skin over narrow doors in the milking parlour -dont need to paint it either

I love recycling but my other half still shakes her head I think !!

Cut off third of way up. Then force the smaller part into the deeper section to create an indestructible calf cake tub off the floor. Add bit of gravel or sand to stop it moving so easily. Bolt through to stop it moving.

Have seen a picture of a ring feeder that had been redone with the straight sections of drums.
Don't get any myself but have bought them for making cattle troughs, easier and better than tin IMO

They’re very good for manhole risers, pour concrete around them, then just acts as a form.

Work a treat for manholes. Had one to do that took a fair bit of working out. Limited space, join three pipes & also cross another drain through the middle of it.
Best option was cut holes in a drum, shoved pipes in, surrounded it in concrete. Then for good measure we also used the same opening to join some ducts with the help of 900mm twinwall for a bit more room. Nearly a work of art
Just need to cut the ducts shorter & chuck on a 8” thick lid we cast out of reinforced concrete.
