Children urged to sing patriotic song: 'Strong Britain, Great Nation!'

CHILDREN throughout the UK are being encouraged to sing a patriotic song later this week as part of a celebration of One Britain One Nation Day 2021.

FFS has the UK fallen so low nowadays that the government will force kids to sing how great the UK is. Whilst politicians now have to have Union flags festooning their offices to prove their loyalty to the leader. There was a time when just being British was enough to gain the respect of the world.

It`s time modern youth caught onto something other than drugs, social media and plain feeling sorry for themselves. Sorry to make such a generalisation but I blame bad parenting and lowering educational standards more than anything for failing to instil respect at an early age. Thus no self respect nor respect for others.

Surely people have been saying the same things for generations. My own children are not at all like that and most of the kids i know are not like that but i try to avoid the working classes.

I don't disagree. Lack of respect for others is only coming from parents and their own mentality. I don't know how you attempt to turn that round on a society level though.

Agree. Mine are very respectful and I'm pretty pleased with how they have turned out.

Yeah, kids learn by example. Kind of makes me cringe when I see the primary school newsletters saying 'this term we will be learning about respect'. Not a chance, that's the parent's job.

I don't disagree. Lack of respect for others is only coming from parents and their own mentality. I don't know how you attempt to turn that round on a society level though.

That’s a hell of a challenge. My sons a teacher all be it in Qatar now but the parents expectations are that the school is 100% responsible for the kids upbringing almost! Frustrating!
