Yes I have checked and sure enough it is on a timed auction. Loads of sheep penning and the staging from the cattle rings

Something similar happened with Darlington back in the early 90s.Norwich market had similar pressures to Newark to close ,several years back , a very determined group of people ,in tern ,kept pressure on the council to provide a livestock market, evoking an ancient charter obliging them to provide a site. It is a thriving small market, farmer owned and operated.
I believe Newark has a similar charter.
