Best battery jump starter

I know technology improves all the time, so whats the lastest thoughts on jump starters. Not looking to start trucks, but as winter is coming (in the UK ) just need something to start cars and 4WDs. Any suggestions welcome.

Joe Hewes (of the Mr Hewes tank repairing Youtube channel fame) swears by Durite ones:

I’ve had 2 of them in werkzeug guise and both packed in pretty quickly. Got the second one free under warranty. Wouldn’t recommend them

I would't have NOCO again. There have zero customer service. I let mine loose its own battery charge and then it would not recharge up at 4 months old. Noco were not interested and basically said tough luck. Got a GOOLOO GT4000S now. It was cheaper and hasn't missed a beat. Only thing it could do with is longer leads.

Noco are great, I have the big one and it’s got plenty of oomph to start even the biggest machine. So lightweight and handy to carry around, it even charges from a cigar socket in vehicle.

But it will not work if the flat battery is totally dead. It needs to sense the 12v before it will give power. If you are wanting a pack that will jump start from totally flat or without a battery, get one of the bigger pack types.

Today is a school day!

It will work without needing to sense power if you press and hold the little button with the ! on the front of the box until the white light next to it comes on.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looking at NOCO, GOOLOO and TOPDON online, how do you recharge them once they have started the vehicle, do they all come with a charging lead? If so, do they charge from the mains, or can they be charged from a power socket on the vehicle once its been started? Also what capacity do you really need to start, say a 2 litre petrol or diesel engine if the battery is just low on charge, not totally dead? Finally are the old school £50 approx jump packs with built in compressor etc any good or am I wasting my time with them?

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
