Change of career.

I had my other career spending 25 years in the international events temporary overlay sector plus 10 years as a retained firefighter.

Love my day job and current work / farm / home life balance now

If I'd carried on working against the economics (and the fashion at the time) with my outdoor sow herd I'm not sure where I'd be now ; probably balder than I am even now !

I used to drive / run 4-wheeler trucks and enjoyed getting out on other farms and also varied work like delivering hardwood coffin sets for a local saw mill to the independent funeral directors. I think I'd have the right people and organisational skills to be a funeral director too.
Exellent living to be had funeral directing if you like it , I couldn’t even tho I defo have the face for it .

House husband. I look after our little one on a Wednesday and most of the weekend in between hands and it’s the best days of the week - would do it all week long given the choice.

I've been doing it for a while now. Its a bit different doing it 'full time' than just the odd day because you end up running the house and sorting out schooling etc but its still a good job. (y)
I just get the odd temp job that fits in with school hours.

Oh and you have to sort out birthdays and play dates etc for the kids which involves getting phone numbers off all the mums and texting them all the time.

Have to tread carefully with that part :nailbiting:

Been running a racing rowing boat company for the last 18 years alongside the arable farm. Now selling it and have contractors doing the arable work. Who knows what’s next, a couple of years sorting out the infrastructure for business let’s and to make life easier then we’ll see....
