Are the torrish sheep already gone?
Yep they were dispersed at the draft ewe sale at Lairg. The good thing for Dennis was they got a hell of a trade Which is reward for a lifetimes work! Pity the wrong people get the cheque!

I hope he had 1 hell of a shepherds pack! So where did his son go from suisgill?Yep they were dispersed at the draft ewe sale at Lairg. The good thing for Dennis was they got a hell of a trade Which is reward for a lifetimes work! Pity the wrong people get the cheque!

I better go a drive down the Strath before its never the same again!
Its happening everywhere. As far as I can gather he’s working self employed for a couple of fowk and has a bit of ground on his own which I bet has some bloody well bred cheviots on it! I think him and his father got the chance to buy some sheep off Suisgill and Torrish before they left But I could be wrong! I would mate it angers and upsets me to think about what’s happening!

When the sheep go the people go!

I think I’d have made sure I had a bit of “black loss” the six months before the dispersal!
He is in the process of registering a flock, he had a couple of tups at Lairg that weren’t registered yet, I think the name might be East Lodge if memory serves. As far as I can gather he’s working self employed for a couple of fowk and has a bit of ground on his own which I bet has some bloody well bred cheviots on it! Hi, where did the tup in the first picture come from?
If they are averaging such high prices for stock why would they start using Aberfield? From what ive seen from that company's various breeds of tups they most certainly arent the future!!I still can’t quite work out the theory behind changing them why change from Cheviot when you have the Suisgill name and that standard of sheep generally averages over £150 a ewe lamb in August, cast ewes are near the same, gimmers £200 and tups average over £1500! Have to be one hell of a blackie flock to top that.....
Oh Jesus, put your tin hat on and run for the hills lad!!If they are averaging such high prices for stock why would they start using Aberfield? From what ive seen from that company's various breeds of tups they most certainly arent the future!!
Unfortunately its the truthOh Jesus, put your tin hat on and run for the hills lad!!
Because those at the helm are clueless and have been ill advised would be my guess. If they are averaging such high prices for stock why would they start using Aberfield? From what ive seen from that company's various breeds of tups they most certainly arent the future!!
A shearling from Allanshaws, a really nice sheep but won't know what a hill looks likeHi, where did the tup in the first picture come from?
I’m not disputing that! I fully agree but there are “modern” farmers about who would lynch you for saying something like that!Unfortunately its the truth
Seen them advertising some Highlanders....Wouldnt use them to sweep up let alone turn them out straight away.I’m not disputing that! I fully agree but there are “modern” farmers about who would lynch you for saying something like that!
Plenty choice,a lot of good tups late in the day!!!
