Think that was the issue in Scotland. Can’t remember what happened but if Scotland awarded protected status it would have applied to England as well. The reality being that once released no control would

Theyhave allowed culling of the beavers in Scotland. They will need to since they breed up to 6 kits a year and no natural predator
