Don’t know about manager , but Latvian lad near here who , operates a beet harvester and does all their spannering , and his skill level is Fendt engine and vario level and only rings dealer if really really really stuck as he puts it . 51000 last year , but starts at 430/5 most days , does serious hours .

Skill base a good farm manager needs and hrs he will ultimately work will be much much more than others on more than that in other industry’s.

Don’t know about manager , but Latvian lad near here who , operates a beet harvester and does all their spannering , and his skill level is Fendt engine and vario level and only rings dealer if really really really stuck as he puts it . 51000 last year , but starts at 430/5 most days , does serious hours .

Assuming he gets about 4100 hours per year in that's only £12 an hour.

Wonder what kind of responsibilities the higher paid managers would have? The salaries for a general manager on a large dairy over here seem to be about £80k+. I’m not sure I would want the job though. You have immense pressure

Yes came over 10 year ago ,from small farm ,self taught mechanic ,welding ,
Knows more about their beet harvesters ,than the dealers selling them ,had engine out of a 930 fendt and fully rebuilt ,
Dont think there is nothing he would have a go at , asked him about vario , his anser was man made , man broke it ,man can fix it ?
