Fella Mower Parts

We have a 3.1m side mounted fella mower, it is about 8/9 years old. Has given little trouble until this year. Without knowing all the details I believe they are now owned by agco.
Anyway, it is the type with a hexagonal shaft running the full length of the bed with individual bevel gearboxes for each disc. On of these gave issues during first cut and we could only get a full unit(£600)
We have studied the unit and reckon we could strip it and replace the individual parts as required? Does anyone know where we can get the parts? Local agco dealers were not confident?

Granit do a non genuine unit for less money.
I would also have a second hand unit off a mower that has a damaged gearbox. Cutting units are in good condition £175

£547.00 less a bit of discount,
2 days delivery plus vat.
Complete unit to bolt on genuine fella.

Thanks, but with carriage to NI there probably isn't much of a saving over local.

Kramp list a lot of fella parts.
Had a look at Kramp but them seem to stock the regular parts like blades etc, no sign of gearboxes.

Have you a full set of units or just the one?

Is anyone aware of the gearbox components being available separately, seems a shame to chuck the unit when 90% of it is perfect - EDIT - I have had a look at the Granit website and they may have the gears available. Thanks @Oh Deere

We ended up just hiring a mower for third cut last year, need to get our own mower sorted sometime soon. As discussed above kramp sell gearbox units but i have yet to find anyone selling individual gearbox parts.

@MrA.G. how did you remove the cutting unit? Did you have to drop the whole bed out?
I have an end unit losing oil between the cutting unit and the rear drive shaft. Also got one in the middle which feels like bearings are on way out.

I am thinking contractor for second cut (only 20 ac) then get it fully stripped in the winter.

No, we left the bed on the mower and stripped the parts individually. It shouldn’t be that big a job if you only have one unit to strip. We stripped everything to check the other units and wash them out.
Your order of removal will be something like:
Drain oil
Remove shaft
Disc off
Bottom plate off
Insulation out
Top plate off
Cutting unit off
