Gen 6 hi lux dpf problems.

Our 2015 hiux. 3.0 engine is in for its mot.

They can't put engine management light out. It's the dpf filter putting on they say.

I've suggested the usual pikey farmers solution like removing the bulb and putting black tape over light.

Anyone deleted it or any other solutions?

Fix the issue, regen the dpf. The hilux systems rarely give bother. 5th injectors can block occasionally. If the garage cant sort it, find another.

It’s a Mk7 Hilux…. not a Gen6
Clean the dpf or buy a new dpf maybe
Try Toyota - may need new injectors

No. I'm tempted to just take it somewhere else.

Will have had it a week on Friday.
These lads who are part of that same network across the UK will sort it one way or the other
Nice run out for ya
Good watch the video from the local lad who started all this up.

Is it local garage or Toyota dealer? There's a difference between a regen and a proper forced regen which possibly needs dealer software to do. The other thing is fault codes can be fairly broad as non specific as to what they tell you and lead you in the wrong direction at times.
Honestly daft as it may sound get the fault code/codes off the garage and google them.

Yeah, I do wonder if that's a option. Man at garage says it won't pass mot with it bypassed though.

Sure the taliban don't have these issues.
Do it and you’d get better economy, make up for a bit of extra particulate matter floating behind you for a wee while.

I often wonder what kind of mpg we’d be getting if the onus had been on manufacturers to increase economy rather than decrease emissions.

I’m sure if the whole crude-to-car supply chain emissions were taken into account, a potential 50-100% increase in mpg and subsequent reduced fuel usage would more than cover any emissions increase in raising mpg. Reduced demand might take the price of it down a bit too…….hmmm……. maybe it’s all starting to make sense 😂
