Before I put my ewes on our maize stubbles that were combined yesterday, is there anything detremental to the health of our sheep by grazing them ?

Stick some Westerwolds on it if your not sowing corn
No no problem, they might be a bit loose though if there's a bit of forager over shoot here and there which there usually is.
but they will be fine and like it, a grass or greened up stubble run back would be best as well.

Not sure I can afford Westerwolds with the amount of fertilizer they need to grow.

Dont you have a dairy farm next door who wants to flood you with his slurry lake , , Is there not enough residuals to get a crop , my spud ground got loadsAlways the seed salesman !!

Westerwolds behind maize grows like buggery Heck ,not much nitrogen needed . Bit late now though I would think ?@Derrick Hughes
