Hay prices

considering the summer we had I thought decent Hay would be in High demand.. could not be more wrong.. no call for small hay bales this winter..my guess is a lot of Horsey folk feeling the pinch maybe selling the horse??
Can't believe it ,
be better buying hay now for next year and grazing your ground if it really is that cheap , no weather to bother about either making the stuff ...

ah could be, but we are finding more have at last worked out that haylage to all either buyer seller or hoss is better value. I ve not seen any reduction in nag numbers more the opposite round here .

on the somerset levels, tier 3 grass, is used for bedding, its pretty useless as a feed.

short on wheat straw, son's pal is short of horse hay, we are getting bedding quality hay, he is getting good quality hay, with the difference made up.

on his horse hay, sold more this year, than ever before, and made a lot more hay as well.
