What about a kevernland ts not an evo simple tyne drI'll, probably a lump less than 10k.
I admit I farm lightish land but the problem I had with the original TS was that in wet going it sank. The wheels were too small to hold it up. I decided that drilling half the field too shallow and half the field 4 inches deep was actually worse than spinning on and using an old wilrich cultivator to tickle it in then at least some of the seed was at the right depth all the way across the field. What about a kevernland ts not an evo simple tyne drI'll, probably a lump less than 10k.
Yes the hopper would need to be moved forward. Also would need to be old style hopper - rather than the newer larger hopper, as this sticks to far forward & would foul the tractor. Somebody came back to me last night to say it has been done. A 4 m. rigid version hacked about for drilling beans. Said from memory it was dramatically shortened & seemed to think there wasn’t 4 rows of seeding tines. Thinks he saw it at Claas Eastern (Sleaford). Looking to see if he has any photos - anyone else remember seeing it ??A trailed 3 meter free flow is well over 3 ton empty and it’s quite long with the hopper nearer the back. I would think it would be ridiculously heavy.
Did you get any further with your mounted freeflow project? I remember seeing that drill in claas eastern… looking at that photo I bet if you did away with the whole front end (packer, tines, and thus unused wings) and ‘just’ welded the drawbar hanger back on you could make it mounted. Would need to be a good welder tho!Yes the hopper would need to be moved forward. No, I spoke to the guy who used to work for Simba & he said not to bother. Too heavy. If I kept the front packer it would probably "stall" due to weight on it.Did you get any further with your mounted freeflow project? Thanks, but no good if it does fold. Needs to be able to get over some narrow canal bridgesI have a trailed lightweight home made tine drill if you want to give me an offer. Accord hopper. Drills 4m but is well over 4m wide.
I can post a picture or 2 if you are interested.
would it not have been easier to just buy a miniflowWe have converted an old rigid 4m trailed freeflow to a mounted one. We removed the front roller and shortened the front ,moving the front tine bar to just infront of the first row of coulters . The hopper was moved as far forward as possible . Also we removed the rear roller and replaced it with the front one, as its lighter
It is very heavy on the linkage and needs more work doing to lighten it ..
