With most other trades men back on monday & ours being a nice open air side things should move on a lot in the next few weeks

Hi it looks very good.Is it too rude to ask approximately how much the house has cost, excluding the land,as I am thinking of building something similar.

To build a bungalow like that about £1000 to £1500 per square meter plus putting in the Services a story and a half would have been cheaper ,more like £900 per square meter
But it all depends wether you are building a house or a home

There’s some very good magazines that my brother had when building his house with all prices per sq ft or mt depending on spec you want

How come roof is solid / boarded.
Normally felt and latts then slate.

Is it to do with type of construction or lots of snow / wind.
Think its a bit of a Scottish tradition its called "Sarking" over the border,
many many old buildings in Scotland have it,as Pennine Ploughing said a few pages back, most roofs in Scotland are like this , yes it will be stronger & warmer as well

popular in europe as well our scanhus kit house 30 yrs ag0 had it , they also put a polythene layer on top of roof trusses then the plasterboard ceiling was nail to the underside leaving a air gap ,, and yes it certainly keeps warm and toastie ,,, yours is looking great (y)
