New tractors - Are they all dull to drive?

Well I much prefer to not have to listen to the “character” of a tractor when I’m sat in the cab for 15 hours a day.

much better to let the vario sort the speed out, the GPS to sort the direction out and I can choose the tunes that beam up from my fone to the wireless.

still like V8s though in cars.
You've changed............... i remember the posts extolling the 155 and why would you go more modern etc etc  ;)

I've driven a 19 reg NH T7.315 which is an absolute monster, the ludicrous power and how quick it takes off I really don't see that as dull at all. I enjoyed the day I did on that!

Yeah I really enjoy that about the 315's we have at work, quite a comfortable tractor, shame the cab is so small!

We had a Deere 8345 autopwr on hire a few years back, it was so comfy, like driving around in your living room.
385hp on boost, was quick off the mark, great fun.

Always felt the bigger Deeres/Magnums had something about them, usually big cab, proper seat and controls, a real machine to sit in.

Yep things move on. TMs we’re good but I wouldn’t like to go back,

honest truth is tractor numbers here got cut, then the 155 became unreliable and I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse to move it on.

Then I realised I only had one 10 year old 6000hr tractor left in the shed so went shopping

Basically I been seduced by vario and auto steer.

Ah, I see you have been convinced by those expensive siren sisters of vario and autosteer. Have you met their comely cousins air suspension and commandpro joystick?

I used to enjoy driving the Valtra T190 at work, that 7.4 litre Susu used to make a lot of noise and theres certain satisfaction in getting gear shifts right with it big gearstick.

I still enjoy having the sunroof open on the 3075 for a bit of turbo noise and the side window open on the MX135 for some Cummins noise,

for a bit.

I've a Valtra 8150 - same cab and controls as the t190 IIRC, but the squarer bonnet and less horses. Can't remember now - was the T series the switch to tier iii engines?...

Anyway, we bought it new in 2003 and it's been our main tractor since. I've driven others newer tractors of different colours and have a 14 plate McCormick 115 which is really nice tractor... but spend any time on anything else then get back into the Valtra and despite it being 19yr old now it's still such a good tractor to operate

Yes the stick of many buttons has worked it’s wicked way on me as well.

I’m still hanging on the the olden days though with springs of steel.

in cab telly is shite though cos I can’t get love island on it

edit- oops did I really just type the above🙈😂🤮😳😱🫣

My best drive ever? Early 1980’s: JD 4040, superseded by 4040S.
Soundgard cab, super air con, comfortable seat, controls to hand and largely mechanical
4 ranges with 4 gears in each range - synchro between 2 and 3, then powershift 1-2 and 3-4. Easy peasy and never short of a gear.
And the sound of a purring JD 6 cyl…….
I‘d happily spend a day in one even now.

certainly nothing dull about this tractor - although after a few 12 hour shifts a new JD might look pretty appealing :ROFLMAO:

2 x 6 cylinder Detroits

if you click on the "youtube" bit it will play
